Ringing in the New Year around the globe… with food

Plenty of Americans will be ringing in the New Year with champagne. But in many other countries, food is crucial to New Year’s celebrations. In Japan, families share buckwheat soba noodles at midnight, and in Norway and Denmark people gather to eat Kransekage, a layered almond ring cake.
