Residents of and visitors to the Big Apple may have to stop using Airbnb for renting their place or staying at someone else’s. The landlord of an Airbnb user in the city was recently fined $2,400 for violating a New York state law on renting a residential space for fewer than 30 days. Airbnb argues that the law was intended to prevent landlords from running large-scale hotels out of residential buildings, not individuals renting their apartments. What do you think of the ruling?
