When you think surfing, you probably think of sunnier locales than Germany. However, river surfing is taking off in Munich, with the aid of artificial waves, and the second European River Surfing Championship was just held there. Locals estimate over a thousand currently active local surfers in Munich. Will the availability of surfing in previously unsurfable locations change summer vacations?
